How do you type or read korean on your computer? |
Travel Info How do you type or read korean on your computer? Travel Tips If you don't have Korean installed on your computer, go to the Microsoft site and download their Korean Language Pack. This has all the data that let's you read and write Korean on your computer. However, if your keyboard does not have Korean letters printed on it, even though your computer can write Korean letters, you won't know which keys to press, so you should buy some stickers. These stickers have both the Korean and English letter printed on them and are meant to be put on the keys of your keyboard. Once you've done these two things, it will be easy to type in Korean and read Korean letters. However, sometimes people forget to change the language bar settings. You right click on the Windows taskbar and select "Language Bar". It will show up in the taskbar. Now click on "EN" and change it to "KO". If "KO" does not show up, you might have to go to the control panel, Languages, and then add Korean to your prefered languages. If there is no Korean in the selection menus, you might have to install the language pack from Microsoft.com (it is free). Others People in Korea use a Windows OS Korean version. I also see that their keyboard has a way to switch to Hangul. To read e-mail sent in Korean I have noticed that Yahoo doesn't really work. Hotmail does work. Just came back from S. Korea last week You have to install Korean fonts on your computer. If you have windows, go to the control panel--> region and language options. Click on the languages Tab. Click Install Asian fonts. Click the "Details" button Click the box "Extend language services to all programs" Return to the regional languages and options window. Click on the "advanced" tab. Drag down the selection bar for "Language for non-Unicode Programs" until it says "Korean" Click "Apply" then click "ok" Some versions of windows require you to have your Install Disk in order to do this. Hope that helps. |
