Any tips for dating a Korean guy?
Cultural things I need to know?
Acceptable behavior, taboos, morals, values, relationship structure, friends, parents, siblings and the like?

For example;
Is it acceptable for me continue to drink and get drunk with his male friends?
Is oral sex against some Confucius moral code?
Should I talk about my time abroad in Japan or are the national feeling still really bad?

Any real cultural tidbit would be useful!

Let's all be mature and stay away from jokes about kimchee, North Korea, small privates, 'OMFG, that's racist!', hairlessness, bad driving, wife-beating etc etc

Travel Tips
Just be aware of the social structure in Korea, older folks even a few short years older than you should be treated with respect, old people with reverence. Mope, don't hang out with his male friends unless he's present, its more accepted in the west than in Asia. Nope, no taboos with oral, that's appreciated in any culture LOL And Japan can be a taboo subject around older folks (50 and above) Younger, should be good to go. When the Mom cooks you a meal, it will be allot of food, and allot of variety, object isn't to finish it all off, you and the other guests won't, object is to try it all. Have fun, I thought Korea was a great place when i was there and liked hanging out with the Koreans.

PS. Yea, Perchorin is right too, I was making the assumption he's a city guy, if he isn't, could be major differences.

PSS. Your other questions are jez to much reading, keep it simple LOL

I use to live in Korea years ago. One thing I notice is that they tend to be a very class based society.
I have some male korean friends, and the truth is even if they want to have a girl with a different race, sooner or later their parents would still intervene and it will be unavoidable that it maybe one of the causes for break ups (not unless they are too old to just have gf麓s)..

Parents dont like it when gf麓s dont know how to do things at home, u gotta learn how to do the bowing thing and other respectful gestures..
You have to be a graduate of a known school lest you were in a different country...
You should not inform them that u are already having sex with their son, or else they麓ll freak out..and why is this all about the parents??bcuz korean men value what their parents think about the most, and some are even willing to give up the love of their life just to obey parents!!

But I can be wrong too..whaddya'u know??anyway that麓s just from what I heard from some korean friends

Goodluck!
Normally tradition korean families won't allow their daughter or even sons to date westerners -neutral Unless the family is quite open-minded. Probably they want their next generation to be korean family too. Korean men tend to be jealous, but will take care of you no matter what. Even if you fight, and something happens, he will do his best to fix your situation. The truth of the matter is if you marry him you are marrying his family and are expected to act as such, but its not so much about leaving your own. If he is the oldest son then this becomes even more true. The only thing that is weird really is that you must cook for them in this situation, but that's about it. I have korean friends and when they get angry you do not want to mess with them. I'm not joking around.

Most of my korean friends most of them are baptist. They still party and drink with friends. Only thing is strict is there parents. If they are really Americanese then you shouldn't have any problems.
