It seems that the Japanese carriers are more expensive (ANA & JAL). I would assume that you are flying into Narita. Keep in mind that Japan has high landing fees that are passed on to the airlines that are then passed along to you the customer. I do believe that Korean Air is now offering a service between Gimpo and Haneda (both the domestic airports), but the cost is the same. If you are looking for a low cost carrier like Airtran or Frontier, you are out of luck. There are no low cost carriers in Korea or Japan, and definately not offering international service inbetween. I am a referring travel agent www.godsgirl2travel.com If you have some time to kill, try taking the ferry that runs frequently from Busan. and Inchon to japan...about 1/2 the cost and lower depending on how you want to travel. No particular low cost airlines available. However, there is service by Northwest and United between Seoul and Narita which is cheaper than both the Korean and Japanese Airlines. Last time I went, one way was about 25000 yen. If this doesn't work, I'd follow the suggestions by other users, try a consolidator or travel agent. The hydrofoil service between Hakata and Busan is pretty cheap at 12000 yen one way and takes about 3 hours. There is also overnight ferries from Busan to many port cities in Japan, but these take days. I know the one from Busan to Fukuoka is a long 18 hours, but the price is 8000 yen. Experience |
