Touring South Korea or Japan? |
Travel Info I have to go to South Korea for a day or two for work. I can stay later (on my dime) if I want to tour the place for a few days. I know nothing about either place, cost or methods of lodging. Is it worth staying in S.Korea, or get dropped off in Japan for a few days? Which cities in either place are good to tour? Travel Tips Hey friend. I would say Korea is much much better. You can get everything there. Shopping, Entertainment, Heritage..... check this site www.korea.net and www.tour2korea.com Have a nice time Others Do you like shopping and amusement parks? If so, I reccomend Lotte, in Seoul, Korea. It's like a combo hotel-mall-amusement park. It pretty much has its own subway stop.. It gets a bit pricy, but it is very great~ If you like nature, peacefulness, (and cheap mandarin oranges that are REALLY good and are actually fresh- as in picked from the tree just that morning..) I reccomend Cheju, the Korean "Hawaii". There is one main group of hotels there- the Lotte, the Shilla, and several others (I reccomend the Shilla- best pillows ever. Lovely place.) The place is very peaceful, with beautiful beaches and ocean. I don't know much about Japan, however. ^^; south korea would be a better place because japan is not as polite to foreigners than i thought coming from my experience in narita japan Well Korea will be much Cheaper but Japan is much nicer!!!! i've lived in both south korea and Japan for about a year each. Korea is very Cheap and Seoul has some good night life. but Japan/Tokyo has much better Food, Much better sight seeing, the night life is Cazy fun, and the people are much more polite. but japan is Extremely expensive!!!!! so its up too you. if you do decide to come to japan. . If you鈥檙e in Tokyo you have to hit up the giant Buddhist temple in Asakusa. Plus there is a lot of good tourist shopping right outside the temple. If you have the time you really should check out Niko it鈥檚 an hour north of Tokyo but its one of the best places in Japan for seeing ancient temples. If your into night life or clubbing check out Roppongi or Shibuya! good luck and have fun! It's up to you if you want to go to Japan, but it is much more epensive than the ROK. There is plenty to do in the ROK for a few days. The DMZ tour is whole day right there. It's really worthwhile-you can see the staring contests at Panmunjon, the Potemkin village on the other side, and a tunnel that was discovered. In Seoul there are plenty of bargins you can find-try the night market. Stay in the South Korea whole days. You can enjoy the culture and foods as much as you like. But don't regret after you got back home. I was in Japan for 4 days a months ago. Unless you are in a hotel or airport, no one can speak English.. when you speak English they start speaking Japanese to you I had the hardest time communicating! It was so ~~~ hard. It's my fault... should've learn some Japanese. |
