I want to buy a business related luxury gift for a Korean client/friend, name brand preferred. Does anyone have any suggestions? My friend enjoys "the finer things in life". Thanks so much!!

I have a lot of experience with the same situation you are in, and believe it or not, the most success I have met is buying an expensive driver or putter (as in golf clubs) for Koreans. For example, you can probably get a Taylormade r7 for about $350 in the US, but in Korea, one of the same clubs costs at least $1000 and they are hard to acquire because of import rules.

Also, does your client a drinker?(many Koreans are) Fashion concious? the more detail the better.
You said "the finer things in life," so I'll suggest these:
- luxury brand handbags and watches -- wildly popular among most higher class and upwardly mobile Koreans
- quality diamond jewelry, such as a broach (I think a necklace or earrings is too "romantic" but maybe a bracelet is also good)
- high quality ginseng (Koreans, especially men, like this) -- the more expensive the better
- expensive herbal "stamina enhancers" such as deer antler powder
- high quality wine -- not all Koreans like European-style wine, but higher class Koreans have often developed a taste for it
- luxury cars such as Mercedes or BMW
- high quality alcohol -- such as aged whiskey or brandy
- Canadian ice wine -- this is starting to get more and more popular among upper class Koreans
- something expensive that represents your home or your company's culture -- such as a high quality cowboy hat if you're from Texas (find out your friend's head size) or good quality vodka if you're from Moscow.
- the BEST gifts are often ones that you KNOW the recipient will love because you or someone else knows the recipient really well (depending on the person, a piece of art or an antique book might be the best possible gift... even a sincere note of thanks could be an awesome gift)
