Travel Info I would like my fiance to come visit me while I'm stationed in South Korea. Every website I visit gives me different information. I went through the same headache when I was stationed in Japan, all the paperwork, and the interviews and they still turned her visa down. I'm just trying to cover my bases and gather all the vital information I need before I send the paperwork to her and tell her to go to the embassy and try to get a visa. If anyone has any information, or any past experience in this topic, it would be greatly appreciated.

hi! i'm a filipina. i'm in korea right now. this is what we did: my husband's Korean professor prepared a notarized invitation letter together with a copy of inviting party's passport requesting my presence assuring that she would only come to visit for the said purpose. this is apart from other VISA requirements. however, the duration of my VISA depended on the consul's discretion. for tourist visa, usually i think 7-15 days. so it depends on the purpose of your visit. i understand that most embassies are strict about this since others use it as stepping stone for them to be able to stay longer in a particular country. GOD BLESS you!
