Can a young, light-skinned, African-American female get a boyfriend in South Korea? |
Travel Info I'll be doing a homestay in Seoul soon and I want to try to make friends. I don't know how hard or easy that will be. Depending upon the situation, if I happen to be friends with a Korean guy and I end up liking him, should I generally expect for him not to date me? Be rude to me even? If I walked up to a Korean guy, introduced myself, made conversation, and asked him on a date would he snub me? Do Korean males generally not like black females? Also, I'm pretty tall...5'9" or 180 cm. Is that going to be a general problem too? Just something I'm wondering about. :-) Travel Tips Real men who like real women don't discriminate. Just be yourself, learn about the Korean culture, have fun, and be friendly but not easy..... Others sure why not? honestly it might be hard to find a boyfriend but there will be korean guys who will like you. you just have to wait. i dont think the height will be much of a problem..theres lots of tall korean guys from what my uncle told me there will be plenty of african-american-south koreans over there, they wernt over their to play hopscotch No. Kudos to you for having an open mind. I'm not sure what the dating scene is like in Korea, but I wish you well. Yes, by all means. Korea is becoming more and more integrated, and you know as with all society, and all country, it's the man who usually have to do the work, so if you are proactive with the guy you are interested, I think the chances are you will like to result. I am aware that there are mutually negative sterotypes held against each other by both black females, and asian males, but there ought to be enough exceptions in the pool. Best of luck to ya in South Korea. |
