Is there a good place to stay in Soeul, Korea? |
Travel Info I am off to Soeul in Korea for five days. I want to find a cheap but interesting place to stay ! I have looked at the hostels and hotels online but it seems quite expensive for very little. Has anybody stayed overnight in a love hotel? how much was it? Was it noisy :op!!! Can you book in advance/online? Travel Tips Yep, love motels are fine. They have things like shampoo, and a drink (like OJ) in the fridge plus coffee and tea (usually) for free. Prices range between $30 and $40. They're also called yogwans (鞐磤) and have a red neon sign that looks something like a pot with flames coming out. Even if the staff doesn't speak English, most are REALLY helpful! Others when i was in seoul i stayed in 2 hotels. both were expensive. one was the imperial hotel which was really nice. the other was the ibis hotel which was more for the businessman. but when i was outside the city, i forget the name of the town, i stayed in a love hotel which was really cheap. like $40/night. and surprisingly it was really nice. the room had a computer, flat screen tv, microwave, fridge, AC, a nice bathroom with a bathtub and shower, and a really cool interesting sink. the hotels in seoul i stayed at were over $100/night I had to stay in a "love motel" for two weeks when I first came to Seoul before my apartment opened up. I can't help you with the price because my employer put me up there, but considering they paid for it says something. As for the quality, it was a little run down looking, but it had a TV, AC, lamp, table, chairs, bed, radio, electric hot water pitcher, and refrigerator in the room. The bathtub didn't have a curtain, but it had the hose type shower head. They provided shampoo and other items, but the shampoo was just in regular bottles (not sample size). They had computers with Internet on the first floor that were accessible by guests. I did hear slamming doors in the middle of the night sometimes, and one night I heard some other distinct noises, but other than that, all was fine. By the way, it is the YoungDeungPo Hotel (or Yong Dung Po Hotel), and it used to be a tourist hotel. stay in a dorm that isn't being used! it may be kind of hard to find but if you look you'll find it! theya re very cheap! but they do have limited amenities. |
