Are Koreans emotional? |
Travel Info They seem to have little self-control over how they react. Travel Tips I may be way off track here, but I think what you may be refering to is something I've noticed since I've been in Seoul, too. We all have reactions, and feel emotions, throughout the day, but I was a little shocked at first to be able to see the emotions so clearly on Koreans' faces (as on the subway, on the street, etc) because I have been acculturated to feel that this is rude. It seems that some Koreans (I hesitate to say all Koreans) are unaware of their facial expressions towards others, or maybe just foreigners. It's possible, that as foreigners (I can only speak as an American), we have learned to suppress the facial reactions so as to appear in control of all situations. I really think it is a cultural thing. I mean, I am not even sure that the Koreans I've caught showing some sort of emotion regarding my presence on their faces realized they were doing anything until I looked at them funny. I don't know if I could make a judgment. I mean, on one hand, hiding your emotions makes someone else feel more comfortable; whereas, on the other hand, you are masking your true feelings and possibly causing confusion. Others That's an allegation. yea..most of them r hehe jz check out most of their movies, tv series etc sobby last time i checked they were human !! of coarse they do!! they are from a differant culture!! and have other ways of doing things. you have emotions dont you? so why would`nt they? I dont noe that much abt them ... but koreans living in korea r really nice and helpful to any foreigner..but koreans that i have met(well some of them) living outside korea are well the wayy u described them.. hope this helped.. are white people? 1. Are Koreans emotional? - on the whole, I think so. maybe they seem to be more emotional than many other non-Koreans. but...aren't many people emotional whether they're Korean or not? 2. They seem to have little self-control... - well, this is "another" question. Some things shown on the media(well, this is for example...) might made you think they have little self-control. However, I don't think this is a matter of self-control. Maybe some Koreans are somewhat(or more than 'somewhat') hasty or imprudent. Maybe some Koreans react on something (too) emotionally. But I don't think it can be something chracterize Koreans...In fact, many Koreans do control their feelings a little too much. I mean, they kind of inhibit...I don't want to say this is good. My point is that I don't think Koreans are not good at controlling themselves. |
