Travel Info What was the US response to the North Korean invasion of South Korea? Travel Tips The South Korean goverment came to the U.S. government and asked for help. The U.S. immediately dispatched the forces they had available and it was not enough. The koreans and Americans were beaten back all the way to Busan, almost the southern tip of the peninsula. Then the U.S. committed massive, air, naval, and ground forces to the war pushing the Chinese and North Korean troops back above the 38th parallel. Rather than crushing the North Korean government at the time, they stopped and established a cease-fire which is still in place today. The war never ended, we are simply at a cease-fire. Others no North Korea never invase to South Korea because they are one family |
