Filipina planning to explore south korea? |
Travel Info im a filipino citizen.. i'm turning 22 years old.. and as a gift im planning to go abroad as a tourist.. i want to spend at least 10 days in south korea.. do i need to get a visa? i tried searching but they always give me different informations... im starting to have headache... and any suggestions about what to do there? Travel Tips Yes, as a Filipino citizen you will need a visa in order to visit South Korea. South Korea is a great country, having travelled there several times over the past few years. If you like trying out new and exotic food, South Korea has their fair share. Soju, their national drink is something that you shouldn't pass up either, that is, if you drink alcohol. Transportation is quite good as there are trains and buses throughout Seoul. If you like history, South Korea has a long one which you can uncover through various museums. I've been to the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art in Seoul and I would strongly recommend it. Don't you wanna see famous places you've never been to? Go to Japan instead and see the Fuji mountain or the enchanting blossoming cherry trees. The great wall of China. The pyramids of Egypt. Why waste your money to a place you don't even have an itinerary. Yes, you need to get a visa to visit South Korea. You need your passport which should not expire for the next six months and some passport size photos when applying for your visa. The korean embassy in the Philippines is at the Pacific Star building in Makati Ave. Last time I checked, there is no visa fee if you plan to stay 59 days or less. But bring some money just to be sure. There's also an interview before they give you a visa. The consul usually asks who will finance your trip? Where will you stay? and the purpose of your trip. It will be very helpful if you or your parents have a big, fat bank account to show them. Also, book your hotel in advance so you can answer question 2 with confidence. For question 3 tell them you want to see and explore their BEAUTIFUL country. (this worked for me) Fun things to do here in Korea are visit the palaces, drink soju and eat kimchi. Filipino living in Korea. well.. for starters, you'll need an invitation to visit Korea... then these things that they mentioned. The invitation is actually your key on to travelling as tourist in south korea. They'll also ask you about your bank accounts, you'll need two valid international visas. there's a lot of muss and fuss, but make sure you get that invitation before working on to the other requirements. |
