Korean dramas and culture?

Travel Info
At present, is south korea still really conservative?
im confused coz of the extremes they show on dramas..
like the kissing scene.. its either they just stick the mouth together and wait until the camera gets a full 360 degree shot of them.. or they suck out each other's soul kind of kiss..
is it normal to date at such a young age?
in showbiz its pretty much the liberated.. like they dirty-dance... etc

Oh baby you make me hot!

I am a teacher living in Korea. Many students do not date until they are out of high school. Why? Studying and getting into a good university are the most important goals in their lives. Why? It brings a higher salary and prestige to the student and family.
You should see the late night TV shows. Conservative, they are not...lol.
There are two sides to this culture. The image they want you to see and the image they don't want you to see. There are many cheap "love motels" you can go to for $25.00 a night.

I would say it is not typical for young people to date at such a young age but.....some do.
In what respect do you mean conservative?
East Asia (and most of South-East and South Asia) has always had much more open views towards sex than cultures with a Christian base culture. Victorian prudery never really arrived in the East.
US television is extremely violent in comparision with Japanese TV, but I think both talk about and visual depiciton of sex, and open nudity, is more common and accepted on Japanese TV than US TV. I also know Korean dramas and movies are a lot racier than any I've seen elsewhere. Im not sure about violence on Korean TV.
Basically what i mean is, Korean TV is conservative, but the social values about it is mindful is different. 'US culture' is rather prudish about sex in many ways, and this comes through in TV, which after months of build up, doesn't even show the couple getting it on. In many other countries, Prision Break style violence is rather shocking and OTT.
I live in Japan, watch Korean dramas. Have lived in China, watched a lot of bootlegged Korean movies.
South Korea is still more conservative than the U.S. but kissing isn't looked down upon. Dating is okay but it usually happens after high school. Marriage comes A LOT later and parents' approval is almost EVERYTHING.
