I'm a Filipino working in China, how long will it take to process Korean tourist visa? |
Travel Info I'm planning to have a vacation in July to Korea. How long will it take to process Korean tourist visa? What shall I do? Where will I go? My wife is Thai and when I worked in Korea she was allowed to just enter with her passport and they stamped her for 30 days. As to where to go and what to do ? Not alot in Korea, I was there for a year and would not go back, but you could go to Jeju ( Cheju )) Island in the south. There are some things to see in Seoul, but in my opinion, nit much to see other than cultural things. If you don't speak Korean, it can be difficult there. Korea is a fascinating country: ancient history, arts and fashions, traditions and modern life, etc. ASEAN countries have treaty arrangements making it easy for tourists from one nation to visit another. I think you can get a 30 day visa upon arrival. Things to see: in Seoul, there are the palaces, nightlife, shows, etc. A good place to start is from Namsan peak, maybe at night, to look over the lights of the city. There are restaurants of all kinds in Korea. Shopping is available all over (from the expensive to the cheap). The Korea Folk Village, near Suwon, will give you a glimpse of Korean history and culture. As a Filipino from China, you will find many differences from both The Philippines and China. Foods are generally spicier than filipino, but you'll find rice with every meal, unlike parts of China. Weather in Korea in July can be hot and humid (less than in PI, but more than most of China). You will enjoy your visit. Had a Korean wife for 35 years; lived in Korea on and off for 38 years; now have Filipina girlfriend. |
