Can you teach in korea with a criminal background from many years ago? |
Travel Info I'm half korean and I want to teach in Korea. But about 10 years ago I did some stupid stuff. Will I still be able to work there or should I find a different job profession in korea? Travel Tips You'll have to try to apply. But since 10 years ago seems like a long enough of a time to let you open your heart, they might let you get the job. Like wat they say about women "You can't know em', you can't kill em'." Others As far as I know, Korean government wants your criminal record for visa from your country. For more information, ask to Foreigne immigration office. http://www.immigration.go.kr/ Good luck. i guess it depends on the level of the crime too... are u thinking about working in Korea because it's hard for u to get a job in the US due to your criminal record or because u want to avoid your past? sorry to judge, but u did say u did some pretty stupid stuff. anyway, if that is the reason, y dont u give it some second thought. y do u insist on finding a job profession in Korea? (it makes people think you're fleeing there because what u did was really bad - disregarding the fact u may have made up for your mistake & that you're half Korean) well, good luck. I'm not sure about the criminal background, but there was a case for health inspection report. One guy just started teaching in Korea and asked to report the health inspection like blood testing, and he kept refusing that and finally quit the job, but found out that he was drug addict. He knew that a drug addcit can not get the job. from a teacher in the school. I am a korean, and living in korea too. One time there was a problem in Korea. The parents were shocked about the foreign academy teachers. Some people had criminal background. They all got arrested and this was showed on TV. I think it would be hard for you if you have criminal background. But, if it was many years ago, and if it wasn't a big stuff, I think you should give it a try. After that accident we, Koreans avoid those teachers. Well, Good Luck in our country :) |
