Is it illegal to mail a copy of Windows Vista to Korea? |
Travel Info There are a few issues here: Korea has its own (Korean) version of Vista; Amazon and other online companies won't send me an English version. Is it legal to order (via Amazon) to an address in the states, then have it sent to me overseas? Travel Tips This is not illegal and you can send it to Korea. Some companies just will not ship internationally. The software is just that, software. You still need a valid license, so I don't understand what the big deal is and why they will not send it to you. Others Of course it is, you paid for it. Do not know if this is true of Vista, but certain technologies are subject to U.S. government export controls. This may be the reason that U.S. retailers will not ship software internationally. http://www.law.duke.edu/journals/dltr/ar... I don't see why not. You can buy an english copy here. Korean Customs may confiscate or severely tax and duty it. Good luck! most won't ship English copies of new software due to the pirate software markets. |
