Any Interesting things to visit or see in S.Korea? |
Travel Info Well, I'm thinking of having a trip to S.Korea during September~October. (Autumn season I think). Well, what I'd like to see is their tradition, culture and also their city-life. May I ask where do you mostly recommend for these places? And also, any other activities to do besides that? Travel Tips In every place that I had been to, I usually study first the place and its popular attractions. It is best that you have a map and take note of popular attractions. It is also best to know where you will be staying so that you can plan your trip well. Make a schedule yourself even if you are in a package tour or not! In my study of Geography, Microsoft Encarta for Kids, Premium DVD, Yahoo travel and yahoo answers definitely helped me. About.com is another useful site! I had studied the 50 US States, Canada, part of Europe and Asia through these! Top 10 popular attractions in South Korea as suggested by Yahoo travel: 1. 63 building Did you know that this is the tallest building in Korea? It is 63 stories which has coffee shops, restaurants, offices and alot more. The best feature of this building is the AQUARIUM which has 400 different species with a total of 20,000 fishes. 2. Myung -dong Street 3. Changyong Palace 4. Mount Suraksan 5. Kyongbuk Palace 6. Seoul Tower 7. Namsam Cable Car 8. Children's Grand Park 9. Admiral Yi Shun Sin Statue 10. Abraham Park and the Kenneth Vine Collection Source(s): Yahoo travel ( click travel guides, go to the cities under Asia, Seoul. At the bottom of the page, see the popular to 10 attractions, here the websites, locations are found. See also the slideshow of Seoul in the upper part of the page! Other Travel Tips Visit the temples. They are wonderful. Visit their market and taste some of the foods sold in stalls. They are clean and delicious. You have to spend one night in a 彀滌氚?(Zzhim-jil-bang), these are awesome saunas where you can relax in igloo shaped hot rooms or soak in a sauna (warning these are public so if you're shy it may not be for you), you can exercise or grab a meal or just lay around talking, watchinf tv, or sleep. Typically you can spend a day there for about 10000锟?(around $11US). If you do however plan to sleep there you need to be prepared to sleep on a marble floor with a wooden pillow at the worst; and thin mat and a small cushion pillow at best but it's not about that it's about the experience. :) As for temples, bleh you seen one you've seen them all, stay away from the 瓴诫车(sp?) Imperial Palace Tour in Seoul it was the absolute worst tour I've ever seen I actually felt embarrased for Korea for having the audacity to show that thin off to tourists in the state it's in. If you want a real Korean experience do things that real Korean's do, visit a market, go hit a park along the Han, stop by and catch a show at a DVD氚? So much to do, so little time. Link below to various images from 彀滌氚╇摛. http://kr.img.search.yahoo.com/search/im... There are some nice temples but there really isn't a whole lot to see. Maybe you should consider China or Japan. I live in South Korea. |
