How many days will it take for an american to have their e2 korean visa processed in hong kong? |
Travel Info i'm an american living in china and the closest korean consulate is in hong kong. my flight to korea departs on 4/4/07 in the morning from hong kong. i have all the necessary documents for an e2 visa but won't be able to submit them until 2 days before my departure. what are my options? thanks for your time and consideration. james Travel Tips I, too, am an American living in China, but have the luxury of a Korean consulate less than 5 kilometers away. In your case, I suspect the Hong Kong office will be willing to expedite the process if you give a good reason, but don't try to be "an ugly American" by demanding - just ask politely. I have found most Korean consular staff to be more friendly and helpful than American consular staff. Two days in advance should be OK - a few years ago, I got my work visa for Korea the next day and didn't say it was a rush. Others I had mine processed in Sydney. It took 3 working days. Maybe phone the consulate and ask. You could also tell them the situation and maybe they can do it more quickly for you. |
