Info about making a road trip into Baja and mainland Mexico?

Travel Info
Planning to drive down through Baja solo and take a ferry across to Mazatlan and up to Arizonia - Any tips, advise on what I'll find and how about tent camping along the way. Other than don't drive at night and drink the water, thanks

Travel Tips
We were at Baja with an RV ( some years ago ) . We entered Baja via Mexicali and drove to San Felipe, where you can find some campground direct on the beach, also some in the closer area of San Felipe ( watch the signs, there were severals ). Then we took road via Puertocitos and continued on the dirt road which meets MX1 between Catavina and the junction to Bahia Los Angeles. On this dirt road you can camp for free but there weren't no services ( no water/gas/etc ), but it was very exciting trip along this road .
In Guerrero Negro there is an campground and restaurant called the Malarimmo ( lobster... ) and you can restock your food. A good place to camp is at the lagoon of Ojo Libre, where in winter you can do whale watching.
In San Ignacio you can visit the mission, I think they have a campground , too.
Then you will pass Mulege, a tiny little town with good restaurants and where you can buy a supply of water from their water depot ( however it is called, i'm german, so I don't know the exact english word, sorry ) . Stay at the Orchard RV , it is your last chance for a good shower and clean restrooms...
When you continue , a must is to stay at Bahia Concepcion, there a several good beaches where you can stay either for free or for 3-4 USD ( Playa Coyote and Playa El Requeson ).
Another place to stay is at the beginning of Bahia Concepion, I forgot the name, but you can see it from the street, they have a little restaurant and showers ( as far as I remenber ) .
In Loreto( campground, restaurants, groceries, mission ) we turned around and went back via MEX1 to San Diego.
In my opinion the part of MEX1 between Catavina and Tijuana is not really spectacular, but we didn't leave MX1, so try .
A good guide is from lonely planet , it was really helpful.

So, I hope, I know a little bit more about Baja and I wish you a pleasant trip

Best regards
