Best Las Vegas Casinos?

Travel Info
I am looking for opinions on casinos in Las Vegas, specifically those in hotels. I don't gamble so I do not know, really, what exactly I am seeking. Best odds, maybe? How about atmosphere, service, bar, etc?

I would really like some opinions on this.
Thanks!

Travel Tips
The higher end resorts on the strip will all offer a great atmosphere and generally have good service (MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Ceasar's, Wynn, Mirage), though I will give special mention to Bellagio because they rate as the one casino I've been in where the smell of smoke has never bothered me! I don't know it they do something extremely different or just a combination of good design and/or luck, but for me this makes a huge difference.

I've found Sahara and Stratosphere to generally offer a nice mix for the odds... and if you've not signed up for the Stratosphere player club, they usually offer some free play and similar coupons that make it worthwhile for at least a stop. Overall though, I've come to enjoy the Palms better than these as the overall atmosphere is just much nicer, and they offer most of the same options in terms of betting minimums and not using automated shufflers.

Others
All gambling places are the same....the same games, atmosphere, smell, noise, etc...the only, and I repeat, the ONLY game you stand a chance at is BLACKJACK.....the rest are designed to take your money.....
lived in Vegas for years.....
The games are indeed the same in general, but there will be variations, such as a dealer hitting on "soft 17" on some Blackjack tables, which slightly improves the House Odds. There are also pass line with odds bets on craps, and the amount you can bet on the odds varies. This is a great bet for a player.

Another variable is the table minimum. Some places will have many $5 minimum tables, some may have one, two, or none. Some places may have $2 or less minimums. The problem with this is that many times the "atmosphere" may be in direct relation to higher table minimums. That is not to say lower minimums are a dump, but this may directly translate to your indirect enjoyment of a location. If all you care about is the table and best odds, lowest minimums, you may find yourself spending more time in older casinos, smaller casinos, or off the strip.

As far as service and/or the bar, well this also depends. Are you wanting a really cool, nice bar in which you can sit and have a few? ... go to a nicer casino on the Strip (though you will pay more). The nicer casinos may also have more distance for the waitress to travel to bring you your drink, so if you dont tip her well, your "complimentary" beverage may take a bit longer to arrive.

It really is all relative, and Vegas is a journey and an exploration. Don't be afraid to pop in and out of every casino you see and gauge for yourself if you feel comfortable and want to hang around. There are far too many for you to "settle". If you dont like the tables, the odds, the staff, the bar, anything, leave and go to the one right next door.

I pretty much only do slots and them not all that much but I played a few places when I was there in October. I did very well at the Tropicana where I stayed and got the Players Club card. I also won at Barbary Coast where I also got a card. Not any luck at the higher end casinos like Caesars and Venetian....they took my money way too fast for me.
Paris Las Vegas hotel- lots to do besides gamble and it's gorgeous!
