Harrah's Las Vegas...?

Travel Info
My fiance and I were offered a week at Harrah's LV for our honeymoon and wedding night. I am a little weary of the "carnival" theme. I'd like to have the nicest hotel we can get, but of course money is always a factor. Should we take this hotel, or look for a different one? Anyone ever stay there or know someone who has? Anyone know of a nice hotel on the strip that is a good deal? Thank you for your input!

Travel Tips
If it's a gift, I'd accept it graciously and never look back!

Harrah's was actually a nicer hotel than I expected it to be. Their buffet was also outstanding. I'd say for the price (free) I would stay there in a heartbeat. The rooms are clean and nice and they actually have great comps if you're a gambler. I'd stay here. If the gift was for any Harrah's hotel, there are several others to choose from (Bally's, Flamingo, Caesars, Paris).

Before you make a decision, I'd check out their website:

guess what all hotels look the same when your eyes are closed and i usually go for the casinos not hotels
Harrah's is a wonderful hotel and although the "Carnival" theme might be what you see on the outside, it is one of the best places to stay.

This is pretty much center of the strip so you can get back to it rather easily. When you are out walking, the blocks are really long so if you are out and you want to go to Treasure Island, Venetian and Wynn, it is a much shorter walk then if you stayed somewhere like the Luxor.

Enjoy Vegas and you will love the beauty and location of Harrah's.
We just got back from Vegas. We stayed at the Bellagio, which is, of course, a very pricey hotel. However, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the nicer hotels on the strip, Harrah's included. If this is a gift from someone, take it graciously and have a great time. You'll be busy going and seeing all the other hotels anyway, just for the sites they each offer. Have a great time and congratulations on your wedding. It took us 25 years to get to Las Vegas so you're way ahead of the game!!! Have fun.
Harrah's is nice, a little cheesy but OK. It's one of the cheaper hotels on the strip, so you get that type of clientele. If you want something nice then you don't want to stay there. However if you want something cheap and good then it fits the bill. They do have a very good steakhouse.

Try the Monte Carlo, it's very nice and often over looked by visitors. The MGM and the Aladdin are very nice and can often have good rates.
Harrahs is a decent enough hotel and the Carnivale theme is minimal at best. It however is probably one of the weaker hotels in that area.

I would consider either the Flamingo or Bally's instead. Both have nicer rooms (and larger rooms), more amenities and better pools while still in a great location and about the same price. I have room pics of all three on my site at...

I just got back from Imperial Palace for my wedding. Any hotel on the strip will work for you. The only difference is the spa, the rates are better if you are staying in the hotel. Every lobby is open to the strip and you don鈥檛 have to be staying at a place to enjoy the restaurants or shopping centers or casino. Other than that there is only the snob factor when it comes to staying there, that is to say do you want the fancy room or would a plain one make you happy. Rates at the Imperial start at $49 for a small room, we paid $104 for a pretty good sized suite that had a living room and a wet bar, and had a huge oversized oval bathtub/shower and a king sized bed. But it wasn鈥檛 snazzed up very much. I do recommend staying somewhere that connects to the monorail. After you walk the strip the first time and see the sights, its really convenient to be able to get anywhere on the strip in a few minutes without walking or paying cab fees, the bus is cheaper but slower.
