Free Las Vegas???? |
Travel Info We heard about a free trip to Las Vegas on the radio. It is through Consolidated Resorts Inc. They give you 3 days, 2 nights and other free stuff (tickets to shows etc.). They are asking for $9.95 shipping. Is this real? Has anyone done this? Should we look out for anything? Travel Tips It is for real but.... Beware: you have to pay a $129 deposit as well. there are only a very few $9.95 hotel options: most are off the strip and are 1/2 star but you can upgrade to a 3 star by forfeiting your $129 deposit. or you can forfeit you deposit and pay an additional $70 to upgrade to a 4 star. some of the choices they gave me were: free: Casino Royale, & some others Ive never heard of. foreit deposit: Hooters, South Point, & Riveria forfeit & pay extra: Monte Carlo & Treasure Island for reviews and more go to: http://www.travel.yahoo.com this really is not a great deal... even with all the comps they give you it only saves you about a hundred dollars or so... including the freebies. -M Others Well I don't know anything about that particular offer - but there are lots of similar offers to resorts that I would bet it's similar to. Yes, it's "real", but usually the only thing "free" is the stay at the resort. You would still have to pay the sales tax and other fees for the stay. Your food is not included. Airfaire or travel is not included. You may receive extras you did not ask for that you will be charged for. Transportation from the airport, and all those miscellaneous things wouldn't be included either. Anyway - the premise is - it's "free" if you agree to listen to their sales presentation on purchasing a timeshare for that particular resort. These presentations can be quite lengthy (maybe hours) and they really hard sell (so I've heard). They will ask you to supply them with your yearly salary, whether you own or rent, etc. before the offer is finally extended to you. They may even require to check your credit report. If they feel you are a potential buyer, then yes - the offer for the free nights at the resort is for real. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED LOL. Yeah but they'll probably break your legs if you don't purchase their timeshare deal once you're out there. its for a timeshare. If anything you should call the radio station that did the advertising, and ask where the info is coming from. Its just weird they are asking for $9.95 Shipping (for what) Sometimes here in Vegas people are "Comped" free things, but its due to big spending and/or gambling. Best thing to do is call the radio station you heard it from just to verify and get the rules. |
