Casinos and Indians? |
Travel Info Do we have regulations for all the Indian, like they do in Las Vegas? Does anyone check the honesty of the slot machines.Who gives them the green light to fleece the public of there money, buisnesses, and lives as they take their lives, after loosing everything, and don't say, nobody forces them to go.Gambling addiction is a sickness, like drugs and ......... Travel Tips State governments oversee all gambling, Indian establishments included. And if you don't like to gamble, don't go to a casino. But don't try to tell me I can't. Others Whom screwed whom first ???? All casinos are regulated regardless of the ethnicity of their owners. Furthermore anyone who isn't smart enough to realize that their odds of getting rich off of a casino is negligible gets what they deserve. Also addiction of any kind is not a disease. LEt me tell people this from Experience I worked at an indian casino in So Cal for 6+ years,. they are NOT regulated by anyone!!! except the NIGA (national indian gaming association) these people know next to nothing about gaming. The regulations are Voluntary to follow. And there is virtually no penalty for not following them. Now the casino I worked at was honest.....but if u get screwed by one, youre that, screwed NOTHING u can do. THere is a Ca agency that supposedly 'has oversight' but its just Not so...now u can be for or against gaming....but it should be clear that native gaming is NOT regulated. The machines come from the factory set at the hold % requested by the casino. Ive been to the IGT machine factory...I remember the tribal chariman at the first indian casino i worked out, going into the money count room and counting out some cash and and just taking it! this was at Fantasy springs casino in palm springs area. It used to be Cowboys and Indians Now its Casinos and Indians either way it the Calvary that saves the day but to be honest I don't know who regulates These Casinos since all are on tribal land. But my experience is Positive while they are not Vegas the do have their own Charm Gambler Ok, you're getting a lot of misinformation here! States do regulate their own casinos HOWEVER, Indian casinos are usually on reservations--land upon which the state really doesn't have jurisdiction (or desire) to enforce anything. Your best odds (In the US) are in Vegas as everything is tightly regulated. Oh, I read an article about someone who won quite a bit at an Indian reservation, they only paid half out. said the rest was a mandatory donation to the tribe.... state & feds did nothing as it was on the indian's land & w/in their rights. That having been said, I've gone to a couple reservation in IA & never had an issue. Check out the "Gambeling for Dummies" book, it lays out all your odds for each game (including diff slots) across the US & explains state/fed regs. |
