Vally of Fire Wedding...? |
Travel Info My fiance and I just booked a Vally of Fire destination wedding with Chaples of Las Vegas. Has anyone gotten married here? If so what did you think? How was the heat? we are getting married in July. Any other information would be helpful or just let me know about your experience. Thanks! Travel Tips I haven't been to any weddings at the Valley of Fire, but I can tell you that if you're getting married there in July, it's going to be HOT. Probably in the 100s or 110s. Will there be a tent thing for people to sit or stand underneath? If not, be sure everyone's wearing sunscreen. You might want to provide everyone with cold bottled water so that no one gets heatstroke. Hopefully your reception will be indoors! Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Others I didn't get married in the Valley of Fire but have visited it a half dozen times while living in Henderson. The best time of year to visit the VOF is in late fall, winter and early spring. To visit or to do anything else there in July will educate you as to why it's called the Valley of FIRE. It is very hot (115-125 degrees) and not much shade outdoors. Also in the early evening (when the sun sets) all of the desert creatures come out to do their hunting. Besides, do you really want to start your marriage in a place that's about as close to hell on earth as there is? Bad Karma. July in The Valley Fire is ridiculously hot. It's beautiful, but there's no shade, it's dry as heck out there, and you'll sweat through your hair, makeup, and clothes in probably about 10 minutes. What amenities are they offering? Is it outside in the open? Are they providing you a tent with air conditioning? Are you dressing formally and expecting any guests to? I would rethink your plans, seriously. It's like getting married floating over an active volcano. If you are adamant, I would suggest flying out for the weekend right now (when it isn't even the official hot season) and see how you like it. |
