Travel Info Is it cheaper to walk to Las Vegas from Austin than drive to it? Travel Tips Hmm Lets see . It's about 1400 miles via Amarillo , Wichita Falls & Waco TX so that's like a day & a half of driving 1400/25mpg= 56 gal @ $3.25 per gal = $182 + $100 for meals and lodging =$300 1400/25mpd= 56 days @$ 20.00pd on food =$1120 on food + 20 nights in motels @$50.00 per night =$1000+1120= $2120=$2300 The reason that you will only spend 20 nights in motels is that for the first 900 miles of that trip motels will often be more than 25 miles apart. Have you thought of flying ? Others I would think not, as it would take so long to walk that distance, you would rack up quite a food bill, if not lodging expenses. It's a good 2 day drive, so it's a looooonnnnggg way to walk. This is assuming you don't die of dehydration in the desert! Probably so. It will take forever but I would do it. as in austin texas???? are you forrest gump or something, walk from texas to vegas :) it takes over two hours 30 mins to fly from vegas to san antonio, i would assume it would take you a long time to walk. Cheaper to walk because after the first few days of walking in the desert you would be dead. If you hitch hike remember there are always not so nice people looking to!! well use your imagination. No funeral because your body would be picked over by the birds and they will take care of that, and after they are done with you well there's always the sands of time to cover your remains. Have fun though and enjoy what you can. Ha! are you serious? walking - no money-slow drive - gas-faster walking for sure !!! just walk fast so you can avoid having to pay for a hotel. when you get to the desert i would start to jog so you can get thru it quicker. |
