Does one need reservations to visit Grand Canyon West / Hualapai Indian Reservation? |
Travel Info Are reservations neccesary? How far ahead? Travel Tips If you are going mainly to see the SkyWalk than you really don't need reservations. I was there a few weekends after it opened, and while it was busy, it was no where near maximum capacity. There was no wait to get on the SkyWalk and they were not limiting the time you could spend on it. From what I have heard, visitors have increased a little since then, but not significantly. Note that you should still show up with plenty of time as they close the SkyWalk fairly early (around dusk) and since you must take the shuttle system to reach it (you can't drive straight to it), you should plan on the better part of an hour to park, get tickets, wait for and ride the shuttle, drop your camera off at security at the SkyWalk, etc. Even with moderate crowds, some of the lines can be pretty slow. The above applies if you are just going to see the main overlooks, do the SkyWalk, etc. If you are planning on taking a boat ride or helicoptor tour of the canyon, having reservations would be a good idea. No. Not to visit it but realistically you need to fly there from Las Vegas North airport |
