Does anyone know where I can reserve room in Las Vegas but pay cash without them charging a deposit on card?

Travel Tips
The only hotel I've encountered that did not charge you anything when making a reservation with your credit card is California Hotel & Casino. You can even put in a credit card # that is inactive. Then, you can pay in person cash. The room rates are reasonable and if you ask for a room on the "new" side they are very much worth it. Source(s): Been to Vegas over 50 times before the age of 33 and have lived here for over a year now.

Wire them a million dollar line and they will put you in a wonderful suite on the house.
Every major casino in Vegas will require a CC to book the room. Once you are there, you can provide them another form of payment but they will make you put down a deposit of usually $200 to cover "incidentals" like phone and TV use. Also, the first night will be charged immediately so you will also certainly end up with at least the 1st night on the card and you them pay cash for the rest of your charges.
Use your card to book the room but when you get there tell them you want to pay them in cash but they will keep your credit card information in case you ordered a Pay Per View and you don't pay the extras after you check out and not go up front to the desk to pay the rest in cash then they will use the card ...

Travel to many hotels ... they're mostly great with not using the credit card but I leave at least 200 - 250 available in case something happens ... (have to stay extra day or something)
I'm not sure if I understand the question. Are you asking about incidental charge deposit upon check-in? Or the 1st night deposit required to reserve the room? I've stayed at both the Tropicana and Excalibur in upgraded spa suites and did not pay an incidental deposit at either place. At the time of check-in they asked me if I planned to make long distance calls, rent movies in my room or use the internet. The answer to all of those questions was no, so they only charged the cost for my room to the credit card. Call the hotel you're interested in ahead of time and just ask! Some of them charge outrageous amounts (NY NY charges $100 a day) and others don't require one at all.

If you are asking about reserving a room without the need to pay the first night as a "deposit" I don't know of any hotels in Las Vegas that would allow this. If you don't have a credit card, you can get a prepaid card that's reloadable with cash at a Currency Exchange or most local grocery stores. Then, you can use that as a credit card to book hotels and pay the rest in cash when you arrive. I sometimes use a prepaid card to protect my credit card information, as it has been stolen in the past. Try www.netspend.com that's where I got my card online, works for car rentals and hotels and refill with cash. No credit check or checking account required.
Yep a friends house.. For real I live in Vegas you should try just the local hotels such as Holiday Inn Homeland Suites etc... They are all very close to the Strip and much much much cheaper.. So many people come here and want to stay on the Strip but you pay and arm and a leg to stay here when you could have had so much more to spend on activities by reducing hotel costs. Any more advice again I live in Las Vegas just let me know!!
