Things to do in Las Vegas?

Travel Info
I am staying at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. I am going this friday and wanted to know if it is a great hotel and what are the top 10 things to do when I am there. I have 5 days.

Travel Tips
The Sahara Hotel is a decent - but as far as the main Las Vegas Strip Casino/Hotels go, its a little outdated. BUT, it does have good deals, a decent buffet for a reasonable price and you can find almost all the games that you can anywhere else there. The good thing about Las vegas is that all the best casinos are along Las Vegas Blvd (about 5 mile stretch) which you can get through by foot (long walk), by bus (take the Duece - it also takes long but is very cheap and clean, and air conditioned!), taxi, or you can take the LV monorail. The convenient thing about the Sahara is that the hotel has a Monorail stop, so you can get up and down the 5 Mile strip in less than 20min and you have the ability to stop at many casinos. The bad thing about the Sahara is that it is kinda far from Bellagio, MGM Grand, and the rest of the strip that is also the most alive and bustling.

As far as things to do in vegas:
1.Gamble - that is if you like gambling, i personally LOVE it
2.Go to a Cirque du Soliel show (no where else on earth is there 5 Cirque du Soliel shows playing continuously!)
3.Eat at ANY restaurant you want, Vegas has ALL the restaurants that you can imagine, and is a pretty good culinary gathering
4.If you are into rides, ride the BIG SHOT and INSANITY ride on top of the Stratoshere Space Needle (which even if you hate rides, at least go to the observation level so that you can enjoy the view of vegas only helicopters can rival).
5.Go to RAIN, PURE, LIGHT, and/or TAO clubs in Palms, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, Venetian, respectfully.
6.At least one night stay up late and see how calm and serene vegas can really be at 5am, and you can still see drunks going around and the gamblers that are barely making it back to bed with no money. Its the absolute best and worst of vegas at 5am, but you have to see it once.
7.Eat at Bellagio Buffet, Wynn Buffet, and MGM Grand Buffet. Bellagio and Wynn are extremely impressive and nice, you'll have to pay around $25-30/person, but its WELL worth it as you get high level desserts, drinks, and meat all included in a very nice and fun atmosphere.
8.Go to the shopping centers at Caesars Palace (the Forum) and the Shopping center in Planet Hollywood Casino (the two best shopping centers in Vegas in my opinion)
9. Just in enjoy yourself, swiming in the sweltering heat, and walk around and marvel at the money people must be wasting in order for all those magnificent hotels to be flourishing like they are.

Have fun, wish I was going. Hope this helps

You should definitely check out www.lasvegas.com, ive also heard that Vegas has great outlet shopping..
See the bellagio fountains, they are stunning. Watch the ship battle in front of Tresure Island. Check out the Volcano erupting at the Mirage and definitely go downtown one night. They have a show every night overhead. Watch your purse though while watching the shows. Have Fun!!!
I believe Sarhara has GM the drive were you can drive Hummers and Corvettes and stuff, it's like $10 and you can drive 2 different vehicles it's really fun. Man I miss Vegas. in the middle of the strip is Margaritaville good magaritas, and next to that is a junkie casino but it's fun in there 23 hour happy hours, and they have a midget in there he is cool. I stayed at Imperial and they have a luau on Tuesday, Thursday, and sunday nights I believe it was that was kind of fun. You could also take a bus tour to the Hoover Dam, which is like 45 minutes away, or to the Grand Canyon, but that take most of the day for the Grand Caynon, it was worth it though. Gamble of course. M&M musuem Strip clubs, or have a limo pick up up for free to go to Sherri's ranch, I didn't do it but it's legal outside of the strip.

Free stuff Water show the Bellagio, Volcano at the Mirage, Pirate ship at Treasure Island, Freemont street experience lasers and stuff.
lasvegas.com has a list of shows, they have the free sows, $5, $10, all the way up to the expensive shows all listed so you can see if there is anything you might want to check out.
