Are sneakers and jeans acceptable attire at a major show at a Vegas hotel? |
Travel Info Are sneakers and jeans acceptable attire at a major show at a Vegas hotel? Travel Tips Lots of people dress casual, but if you want better seats and excellent service dress for the show. For example if you were to go see Celine Dion or Wayne Newton (not my first choice) then dress well. You don't need tails or a 3 piece suit but stay away from jeans and sneakers. However, if you are going to see Circe de Soliel, then casual attire is alright. When in doubt, ask the concierge at the hotel where you are staying at. OR the ticket office where the show you want to see is at. Others no, not really. you should probably wear slacks and a dress shirt . some people actually go all out at those shows. Most of Las Vegas is very casual but you might dress up a little bit....You don't want to look like some schlub from the hinterlands... Some people say you can dress whatever you want because it's Vegas but it's not entirely true. I went to see the Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian Hotel 2 weeks ago and called the theater ahead asking about their dress code. They said, "business casual - no jeans, no shorts, and no flip flops." When I was there, people were generally dressed nicely(clean shirts, slacks - not too much, though and you don't really have to) but also saw men with shorts and sneakers. But I dropped my jaw when I saw a lady(mother) who was in her black track pants(with white side stripes) with a red cotton t-shirt. That wasn't a very good sight... I think it depends on who you are going with. If you are going with your significant other or a mixed group of people, it's good to dress up nicely together and go to good restaurants before or afterwards. If you are going with good friends/buddies, just dress neatly. You pay $$$ to see those shows and why not dress nicely for the occasion? Dressing up wouldn't really hurt you. Enjoy! Hope it helps... http://www.accessvegas.com/faqs/dress-co... most places will let you in, some will turn you down, but if they do let you in, you will stick out No. Where they probably won't turn you away (unless it's a club, then they WILL turn you away) it's REALLY frowned upon. Wear some khakis or Dockers and nice shoes. |
