Need help Moving from Georgia to Las Vegas!!!!? |
Travel Info Hey there everyone. I am moving from Jefferson, GA (about 1 hour north of Atlanta) to Las Vegas Neveda. I can't afford a moving rental truck by myself. Is there anyone making this move around july 9th or 10th that might have some spare room in a rental truck that I can split costs with? OR does anyone have any inside info on the cheapest way to get my stuff to Vegas? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Travel Tips Something to consider... maybe you should wait to move until you can afford it. Las Vegas isn't pretty for the poor - if you have to have subsidized housing, you'll end up in a fairly (if not totally) nasty place. If you have the money for proper housing (approx. $1000/mo for a small apartment in a good neighborhood) and a job lined up, then you'll be okay. However, if you don't have any money to fall back on, you could be in serious trouble if you lose your job. Nevada is a right-to-work state - I'm not sure what that phrase means but any employer can fire any employee at any time for any reason unless there is a written contract stating otherwise - and those are impossible to get unless you're high management or union. Las Vegas can be a great place to live - but you need to be prepared first. Others It might help if you estimate how much stuff you have to move. DONT DO IT STAY IN GEORGIA!!!!!!!!! I second that!!!! I'm on my way out. Don't move. Beside, they'll just take your moving truck (stuff included) when you get here... Oh, wait... they already caught the crooks doing that. Depending on how much stuff your bringing down here, you might want to check out U-Haul. thats probably the cheapest route, or Rydell |
