What is your favorite and least favorite place to gamble in Vegas?

Travel Info
I do my most of my winning at either Mandalay Bay or NYNY. I always lose at MGM, Tropicana or the Orleans.

Travel Tips
My wife and I go to Las Vegas 2-3 times a year. I have always enjoyed gaming at Casino Royale - a small casino hotel right between Harrah's and The Venetian. Its usually a party atmosphere, they have good drinks and very good waitress service at both the slots and the tables. I like their tables and you can always find a $5.00 table if that's your game. I usually, not always, come away ahead, and if not, I've enjoyed my time there. I also enjoy Monte Carlo, Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood), Harrah's, Rio, and Red Rock.

I have not had experiences like this at any of the major large hotels. We have stayed and/or played at Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn, Caesars, Mandalay Bay, MGM, Mirage or Luxor. I absolutely don't like playing at the Trop, Excalibur, NYNY, or Flamingo.

One man's opinion. Source(s): Lots and lots of personal experience.
Other Travel Tips
I have only won at the Imperial Palace and Mandalay Bay
I just went to Las Vegas for a week, we did hit the strip but I will tell ya the places that I actually won at were:
The tuscany, they had a nice resturant took in 50 walked out with 125,
The Red Rock Casino and Resort not on the strip was excellent as well nice resterant and won there as well over 80 there.
My favorite was The Orleans won something every day I was there on the cashman machines they pay very well alot of bonuses
Honestly everything on the strip just ate my money very fast
Harrahs, Mgm was the worst, New york New york wasnt any better.
Silverton was nice every place I won something at was located off the strip.......Silverton has a wonderful Bass pro shop.......alot of fun
Hope this helps out I play nickles and quarters and budgeted a 100 a day to gamble with so not a big gambler but 2 days didnt have to get into my stash..........was very nice
I miss the Stardust so much! It had an old school feel and they always treated me like a high roller despite having a definitely mid roller budget. It was a very sad day when she went away...

Least favorite place is ANY of the hotels owned by Harrah's - Caesars, Rio, Bally, Flamingo and Harrah's. They have completely dismantled any semblance of good games and filled formerly great casinos with nothing but garbage like 6/5 BJ and bad video poker. They completed ruined Rio and Caesars.
Favs - Hooters ( even when you lose you win ) and O'sheas
Least Favs - The ones that are more concerned with image then a fun experience i.e. wynn, bellagio, venician, MGM, ceasars.... you know the rest
It depends on what you play. Look for a copy of the "Las Vegas Advisor", or check it out online.

Slots: Most slots pay less than 90%. Stardust was good. Frontier is good, but that'll close July 15. Orleans has been good and bad. I like Casino Monte Lago in Lake Las Vegas. The reason I say check the Advisor is that the casinos like to change the payouts. The Advisor tries to keep up with them.

Tables: Stay off the strip for the best odds. However, I do agree with the Casino Royale choice as they have Blackjack Switch. Neat twist to the game. For example, most (not all, but most all) blackjack tables on the strip now pay 6-5 ($6 on $5 bet) for a black. Off the strip is easy to find 3-2 ($7.50 on a $5 bet).

The only consistency, slots or table, is that you get the worst odds on the strip.
