Liquor (oh & groceries too) store near the strip...? |
Travel Info Okay - going to Vegas, and would like to have a few "essentials" in our room, but don't want to fly them out on the plane. Where would be the best place to shop? Thanks! Travel Tips For liquor I recommend stopping by the "Carnival court" It is considered to be part of Harrah's and is just south of the casino on the strip. There is a liquor store on the corner of the court. Although, I have heard prices have risen since I last visited. Probably cheaper at a grocer. Groceries? Depends on where you are staying. The casinos like you to eat at their restaurants. However, most major streets have a grocery store within a mile or so of the strip. Trop has a Vons east at Maryland. Flamingo has a Food-4-Less west at Decatur (I believe). Spring Mtn/Sands/Twain has a Vons east at Maryland. Sahara has an Albertsons and a Smiths east at Maryland. As you can see, Maryland has several grocery stores and will probably be the closest and best bet. I think there is an Albertsons at Flamingo and Maryland (not sure). Others I suggest down Sahara and MD. I would like to also say Las Vegas has a good bus system IF you are flying out and have no car then take the bus. Make it a morning! zip code is 89010 and then put in grocery stores Vons, Albertson,s Smiths or Longs Drugs any have liquor and the things you want. There is actually a walgreens on the strip. wierd, i know Go to Lee's Discount Liquor for the booze - it's probably less than half the price you'll pay at any shop on the strip and it's almost half the price of the grocery stores... plus there's a larger selection. There's one located south on Las Vegas Blvd near Warm Springs Blvd. (east/left side of the road). |
