Travel Info I'm going to Vegas next weekend (7/06-7/09) and I want to go to some kind of show, but Im not sure whichs ones are good. Has anyone been to a great not too expensive show? Im thinking more magic, or comedy....Thanks! Travel Tips I would recommend Carrot Top at the Luxor. The show was around 30 dollars (at Tix4Tonite) and I sat in the second row. The show was non-stop laughs for a little over an hour. The Cirque shows are great. Once in a while Tix4Tonite gets a few discounted tickets for Zumanity and Mystere. Mystere is the older of the two and is a bit more polished. Don't be shy walking up to the Hi-end show tickets at the coke bottle to see if they can give you a last minute deal. I sat 7th row for Leno and saved 44 dollars. Whatever you do stay away from the "up to 70% shows" booths. They are timeshare salesmen. Time in Vegas is too short to bother with them. Others I live here in Vegas. Go to Vegas.com !!! It is a good site. But most of the shows are expensive!!! Even being a local it gets expensive. Check out that site!! try ticketmaster.com and just put down the information. have fun. I was just in Vegas not too long ago, and there were plenty of shows that I would've liked to see but were waaaay to expensive. The shows I saw were somewhere around 70 bucks for cheap seats. Check out Vegas.com there are some magic shows you can get into for 30-35 bucks, but every casino has their own thing going. The best way to save money is to take the monorail as much as humanly possibly...I got an unlimited ride 24 hour ticket for like 8 bucks. If you haven't been on monorail it goes from MGM up to the Sahara. It's fun to get off the strip to...check out Red Rock Canyon, some nice hiking trails, with a nice scenic drive...only about 30 miles out of town. Have fun!!! Hey! You are going to have such a blast! I've been to Vegas three times, and each time had a totally different experience. One thing that I can say is that I am SO glad that I spent the money to see a Cirque du Soleil show each time that I went. There are a bunch of different shows with different pricing options. Now, granted, some of the tickets can run pricey, but it it absolutely worth it. Currently, there are five Cirque shows running in Vegas: 1. Mystere at Treasure Island--I've never seen this one, but I've heard good things about it. 2. Love at The Mirage--this is the newest one. It is Beatles themed...and it looks fabulous. 3. Zumanity at New York New York--this one I've seen twice. It is the "sexier" of all the Cirques...but very cool. Lots of funky lighting and sexy costuming. Some partial nudity. 4.Ka at MGM--I saw this one and I liked it, but not as much as Zumanity. It's based on an Asian folktale and involves a lot of cool effects with smoke and fire. 5.O at Bellagio--this one is all water based and I've heard is unbelievable. I really want to see this one. The next time I go, I'm pushing to see "O" and my fiance wants to see "Love." But seriously, if you splurge on one thing, a Cirque show is the way to go. As long as the headliner for the show isn't a star comedian, shows can run about $30-40. But if you have the money, go see one of the many Cirque shows that are playing. |
