Where is the best place to play Texas Hold'em in Las Vegas? |
Travel Info Going there in October and want to know where I should play. Last time I went to MGM Grand and played and liked it a lot but want to know of any other places. Travel Tips My personal favorite place to play NLHE is at the MGM Grand Poker Room. It has the best decor and a good spread in the limits that are available. From 1-2 to 2-5 NL (with buyins from 100-500 dollars) the NL tables have a range of players between novice to sharks (which adds to the fun and gamble). I typically run into better players here, which means less donkey type plays, which make for less of a headache and less bad beats - I look for places where players are better. Besides that, I think Mirage's poker room is the MOST underrated poker room in Vegas. It has also some of the best players and there Sit n' Go tournaments and daily tournaments are the best I've played in vegas. Plus the limit and NL games are well lit and the atmosphere laid back. I would also agree that the Horseshoe is a place that you should try at LEAST once, there are definately some GREAT players there and a lot of history that you can witness on the walls (past Main event champions of the World Series of Poker). Plus its cool to see a less glittery poker room that stresses the game like it used to be. The Venetian has probably the best poker room for beginners that would like to play NL poker at higher limits (say $500 buyin, instead of 100 or 200). The average player here is not as sharp, but they play loose and are nice in general, even when you give them a bad beat. Lastly, I have to mention that the best high limit poker rooms in vegas that I've played in are the Wynn (10-20 NL which have pots in the thousands) and Bellagio (5-10, easily pots in the 500-700 range). But it took me a while to get the confidence (not to mention the money) to play with the right mind set. But Bellagio's and Wynn's poker rooms are the nicest and do have the highest limits around if you're up for it. Good luck man, and have fun bro - wish I was going with you. Hope this helps. Others i wouldn't say its the BEST place, but you can't play holdem in vegas without playing holdem at the horseshoe at least once...the history of that place, be part of it! The best place to play Texas Hold'em is at the Balagio located next to Ceaser Palace. The Balagio has great action and can see pro card players there. Downtown: Binion's or the Golden Negget. There is only one answer to this question and that is: "There is no way to answer this question." What qualities do you want so that somebody can determine the best place. Maybe Bobby's Room at Bellagio is the best place to play high stakes but the Sahara is the best for low stakes. Maybe you want a room that permits smoking. Who knows what is going to be the best for you....but you can find out. Go to the website I listed as the source. They have a complete review (usually pretty up to date) from each Las Vegas poker room. It also has comments from visitors as well. When you go to this link just click on the room you want to look at on the left side of the screen. http://www.allvegaspoker.com/index.php... My personal favorite is TI. The room is fairly small and have lower buy-ins which fish food, if ya know what I mean. I have rarely come out of there without a decent payday. Daily tourneys are $65 with no add-ons and no re-buys. Alternates are allowed until the first break (about an hour) with chip penalties. |
