Nice place to Live in Las Vegas?

I'm going to Las Vegas with my boyfriend and we are planning to rent an apartment. Anybody know what sections are nice? North Vegas? East Vegas? etc.

We have about $750 for rent each month.

Las Vegas is an expensive town to live in. $750 a month won't get much unless you find a trustworthy roommate. But you still have to take into consideration everything else like gas is more expensive, groceries, power (and you use it a lot out here for your AC), and water. I have a 2 bed, 2 bath 1200 sq. ft. apartment in the NW for $1000 a month and tha's with a discount from my job!

To be honest, 750 won't get you into a nice neighborhood. *at least that was true 10 years ago* I was in a soso neighborhood and spent 900/month my first place and 1200/month for the second apartment. It's kind of expensive to live in Vegas. I would suggest that you stay away from North Las Vegas, especially away from around Freemont Street.
yah 750 is a little low,but depending on what jobs you get,you might do good,as for living,north town........is the ghetto,summerlin and 7 hills is the rich areas,most look at green valley or henderson,starting out anyways,the eastside is green valley and henderson too,just look up apartment guides online and look around,it not bad,if you can get past your first summer,then your good to go,mild winters and hardley no rain,summer has the monsoons,but even that is light,we do get floods,but nothing like the mid west.
I live here. I live in the North west part, my husband & I rent a home (until our escrow goes through) We rent a 4 bedroom home for 1295.00$$ a month. This side of town is newer & nicer. I am up by the 95 & Ann RD. The North East side is nooo good!!! Anywhere by Martin Lutherking St is NOOOOO good!!!! Good luck!!
The hood next to Palace station can get you a apt for about $600 bullet proof shields and drug dogs extra.

A decent one will start out at $850
