Hoover Dam question?? |
Travel Info I just have a couple questions and they are probably easily answered... Can you take pictures at Hoover Dam? I just got a really nice digital camera and it would take great pics. ^I looked this ques. up on the site, but it confused me. It sounded as if I need to pay like $200.00 in order to do so! Also, someone told me to go see it at night (when its lit up) but the operating hours are only until 5:00pm. Are they open longer during certain months? Any help would be great! :o) T/u! ~Sarah Travel Tips Yes, anywhere that you can go on Hoover Dam, you can take pictures - even on the tour. No extra charge. Night: It's neat to see at night. The Dam is always "open" as it's a main road between Arizona and Nevada. However, the tour areas close at 5pm. As the website says, no pedestrians are allowed on the Dam at night. You can still park in the Arizona lots and take pictures and you can still drive across the dam. Here's the official site of Hoover Dam: http://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/... If you don't mind walking a bit in the heat (make sure you have water), then park in Arizona where it's free. The parking garage in Nevada is $7. Here's a link for $$ off of the tour: http://www.vegas4locals.com/couponhoover... Others yes you can take pictures all day long at the dam for free Personally i would advise to drive out to the dam, its only about 25-30 miles from las vegas anyway, although the tour companies do a good job imo. photo yes and the tours at till the time posted. There is an active road over the dam and you can drive across to Arizona that is why the person made note of night photos. |
