Travel Tips easy left Bergen County, just the other side of the GW bridge on a Tuesday night at 3 p.m. and to to DeMoine, Iowa in 24 hours. Next day went to Radip City, SD to see Mt. Rushmore. Stopped in Denver to see a lady Denver to LVegas is 12 hours. you can do it in two and one half days if you do not make side trips and meet women dates. The day I drove 24 hours did stop at rest stops along the way and took 30 minute sleep breaks. Also coming from NYC, the interesting thing about the USA is no street lights. So I decided to do day time driving after day one. Utah and Wyoming are incredible places to see and if you can go to S. Dakota take the trip. It is an amzaing country. Others Depends on how many hours a day you can drive and how fast you go but, based on posted limits, probably abotu 50 hours straight through. Subtract out stops for meals, sleep and whatever and you're probably looking at 4 to 5 days. According to Google maps, it is 2,521 miles and the driving time is 1 day and 13 hours. I drove from Ohio to Las Vegas in 2 1/2 days. We drove about 14 - 16 hours each of the first two days and got a hotel for 2 nights. The last day I think it was another 8 hours. So if you are driving from NYC, I think it would be another 8 hours or so. I was a nice drive, we took the southern route through Arkansas, north Texas, New Mexico and Arizona since it was January and we didn't want to mess with the mountains in Colorado with the moving truck. I imagine the route through Colorado would be nice this time of year. |
