Travel Info How far from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe? Is is fairly easy to get there? Travel Tips The distance between LV and Tahoe is pretty far, brinking on about 450 miles. However, the roads that are between Tahoe and Vegas are not large freeways but smaller, sometimes only two lane, highways - so your average speed will not be very high - it should take around 9-10 hours, depending on stop times and how fast you can drive. Highways you need to check conditions for are 207, 756, 395, 168, 266, 95 - but right now in the summer it should be alright. There is a lot of scenic things to see - mountains, desert, etc. - so the drive is not horrible. Plus the roads are not too hard to follow - but I would suggest having a map around just in case. Good luck, have fun in both cities and hope this helps. Others Its a long way. I drove it over 2 days with a stop at Yosemite. From downtown Las Vegas to downtown Lake Tahoe is approximately 470 miles. It's incredibly easy to get there. Just get on the link below. It'll give you directions, turn-offs, et cetera. Just make sure you're really careful when going past Area 51! Also, it's sort of fun to say PAH-RUMP a lot when you drive past the town. It has a great sound. http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=x3odmtexnmiy... Yes, it's fairly easy to get there! Hwy 95 is a straight shot, if you are driving. Otherwise, fly. It's definitely a 9+ hour drive and on some pretty boring roads also.. if you're going to do it, take someone lively along so you don't get highway hypnotism :-) It is, however, a fairly straight shot up Hwy 95 so it's not a complicated drive. As for mentions of Pahrump or Area 51, you'd miss both of those if you're heading north from Vegas.. which is one of the pluses of this route ;-) |
