Which architectural style are Lebanese houses built in? |
Travel Info Ottoman-French? Travel Tips hey beautiful i agree with kate.. arnt they all built like that??? Others some, but others are built like most homes in the middle east, with a lot of bricks and stones. Eclectic architecture. Guess it depends where you go....there are examples of both of those but in the mountains there are some fantastic homes made of stone ...could be sandstone but not sure ! it's mixed between ancient and modern. I don't think there is much Ottoman influence there. you go from the old stone houses to the modern architecture. it also depends on the area. It appears that no one knows that we tend to use the Mediterranean style in architact however we are a bit exquisit cause the lebanese architectes tend to combine it with the arabic style which makes the lebanese traditional houses the face of the west in the arab region & vest versa. French style but there are many modern buildings. |
