Does it cost a lot to live in London? |
Travel Info Does the rent there cost a lot? Travel Tips yes it is one of the most expensive areas to live in in the whole of Europe/ it does depend however on which part of London you live in, generally South and East London are the cheaper areas. studio flats in East London may be as cheap as 500 pounds a month (which may not include bills) which is actually very cheap for London , believe me. London in divided into zones 1-6 (zone 6 is not really London at all but towns on the outskirts), the higher the number of zone the cheaper the houses, generally. Also the further it will be from the Centre. Another cost you have bear in mind is 'council tax' that everyone in England (and I think the whole of Britain) must pay on their property. This can range from 70-100 pounds a month for a single person living in a one-bed flat to around 200 pounds for a large home occupied by several people gas and electricity are roughly about 50 pounds per month for average consumption , thugh they may not be charged monthly but quarterly (every 4 months). You may only have electricity for heating and not gas, but then the cost of electricity mounts up quicker than gas so you will not be much better off. water rates are cheaper per month I think but it does depend on area.Depends where abouts in London you were thinking of. I rented in south london a 1-bed ground floor flat for 拢600 a month. London is a very expensive place to live. A good 1 bed flat from 拢550 per month. It takes a lot of searching to find a good location and ideal living conditions. it is very expensive here. You can get a houseshare which is cheaper. but in a good area for a 1 bed, you're looking at 拢6-700 per month. unless you get a bargain. look on www.gumtree.com to get an idea Yea dear !!! |
