What are the most important book shops in London?

Travel Info
I'm Spanish and I'm travelling to London this summer with some friends to buy the last Harry Potter book and go to the bookshops parties (freaks? yes, I know ^^lol) so we want to know what are the most important bookshops there, where could we go to join a party and have some fun.
So, what do you recommend me?

Travel Tips
There are some really good book shops and parties in Soho, but I would have thought it cheaper to buy Harry Potter book in Spain. Source(s): http://www.soholondon.com

Hmmm, Gower Street has a very big Waterstones, and on Oxford Street there is a HUGE Borders. I assme these will be offering what you want. I would go too, but I am in Beijing when it comes out so I have to wait an extra 3 weeks for the book!!! Also, over here the rrp for HP7 is about 拢17 but online it's 拢8ish, but I assume the bigs stores will have big discounts too. Enjoy your stay!
Foyles on Charing Cross Road (near Oxford Street) is a very famous bookstore and is also quite large - their website will tell you how many copies are in stock. Across the road there is a Borders too.
