What is life really like working in and around the City of London? |
Travel Info Living up in the North East of England all my life I have always been tempted to go down south to find a better job. But what is life really like working in and around London? What are the benefits and the drawbacks? Travel Tips It's really good living just outside the centre i.e. greater London, because you can live in the suburbs where it is not so mental, but you are only 12 miles outside of the centre. That way you can have a bit of peace and quiet (though it is still London don't forget!) but you can have easy access to the shopping and night life. Others it is hell with all trafic and noise but has a goood night life loads of people, friendly but can be hell at times rush, rush, rushing around all over the place & nobody says hello to each other...probably because they dont understand as most are foreigners. I live in a leafy suburb of London and commute by tube 40 mins into Central London for work and back each day and I love it. I love the hussle and bussle of the city centre but its great going home to a nice quieter area of London to escape it at the end of the day. It can get a bit hectic at times, but its great if you want that sort of life. Good Luck! I used to work all over London, running a pub, in tv and in a good office job and i have to say that i had the time of my life.....great place, loads of people and always something to do.....you should try it.....i don't see any drawbacks, but i am a southerner....you may find it different.....good luck, anyhow, bud! Expensive...nice nites out but overall London is expensive. But you will have great memories.... love the heritage and the pace. Dont forget ministry of sound....... |
