(im 18 alone, traveling w/ my 10year old bro)
So... non-sense tips pls.

Travel Tips
London is not cheap... however..

Best places - and closest tube stations:

London Eye - Westminster or Waterloo
London Aquarium - near London Eye
Tower of London - Tower Hill
London Dungeon - London Bridge
Leicester Square & Soho - Leicester Square
Buckingham Palace - Charing Cross, Victoria, St. James Park
River Cruise - Embankment or Tower Hill
Canary Wharf - Canary Wharf (or best view of from South Quays or Greenwich area)
Covent Garden (good shops & restaurants) - Covent Garden tube gets busy so walk from Leicester Square or Charing Cross.

Eating:

Eating out is not cheap in London - McDonalds is about $10 per person. Look out for earlyt evening special deals in restarants

Best tips:

Use the 1 day or 7 travel card from any underground station or bus ticket machine. Gives you 1 day or 7 days travel on all buses, the underground and some train services. A HUGE saving on normal ticket prices.

Traditional "Black Cabs" are the best in the world - avoid mini-cabs and touts. Black Cabs can be hailed at the kerbside and the driver has to take you the best route - but they are expensive.

Best shopping:

As a local I think Oxford Street is not a great place... Regent Street has a couple of good stores.

If you want good value shopping try Brent Cross (Northern Line tube) or Bluewater (biggest shopping centre in europe or at least the UK). Bluewater is about 40 minutes out of London. Trains leave from Charring Cross, Waterloo East or London Bridge and you need to get off at Greenhithe - Bluewater (note you'll need an extra ticket as the travel card does not cover that far out).

Finally,,, when you first arrive buy a map and if you can take a bus tour to get a quick look at everything.
