Travel Info How long would it take someone to do the London Cab knowledge if one was doing it was full time? Travel Tips A minimum of two years, and more likely three because if you try to go too fast the examiners will knock you back ! ! ! Others Apparently, it takes three years. It all depends on how good your sense of direction is I would have thought.....! Me, probably the rest of my natural life, and then some! It depends on if your going for the full London badge, this means you must have detailed knowledge of over 25,000 streets within a 6 mile radius of Charring Cross , you cannot work in Central London or Heathrow airport with out this licence . I believe it takes about 3 years, although if you dont do well at your call up's it can take longer. The other badge is the suburban badge, this badge is divided into 16 sectors outside the 6 mile radius and you must have detailed knowledge of your chosen sector, my brother in law has this badge and it took him over 2 years! me to be a good London cabbie you have to expect 2/3 years and then some its around 3/4 years on a Green Badge which covers Central London and the City 2 and bit for the suburban Badge which covers a local area outside of central London also you would need to take a motorbike test first so that you are able to travel round the areas cheaply and with ease |
