Travel Info
Any one of you been to London? I have been to the usa do you think our wording of phrases are that different? what do you really make of us brits?.

Travel Tips
cute question...i have never been to london but i would love to go. yes i think that while we speak the same language, slang and other variations might make it a little difficult to converse without having to stop every few sentences for an explanation of what something means..lol!!! for the most part i don't think there would be a problem though.

as for my personal opinion of brits, i think that you are probably just like us, taking life one day at a time and doing the best you can, although the media propoganda machine would have us all believe that we hate each other. what a joke!!!

infinite love and gratitude to you all!!!

London is one of the greatest cities on earth to visit! So much to see; so much to do. People are generally friendly and helpful. But OOOH so expensive!!! The differences in phrasing are cool - the nice thing is that while we generally speak the same language, our 'lingo' is different - keeps things interesting.
I think, unfortunately, that people may be seeing all the media about the bombs etc. and getting nervy - this, on top of the cost, may impact tourism from the US for a while.
hello london, no i have never been there. i love historical places though. to answer your question about your sayings and the way you talk, well, it is a little different but no different than here in the u.s. where if your from new york and say texas, your sayings will be different. i love your accents too.
Your accents are different! but i'd say USA and the UK are similar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

ps: wish AMERICA a happy b-day!! it's the 4th of July...Independence Day!!
I have travelled to England... love the fish and vinegar chips... now that spotted dick thats another thing. I am not much of a pudding person myself.. so to answer your question... yes words are different everywhere... it is what makes life interesting dont you think? Or should I say bloody hell ... i think that has the same suggestive meaning anywhere in the world.
I've been to London but I was in the airport, does that count? Anyways, some of your wording is a little different. I think British people speak English properly. Us Americans well, I'll keep that to myself. lolz
Hi back from the middle of the US. Yup, was in London YEARS ago. Found it delightful--very delightful. And the Brits were very nice to we yanks. Yes, the wording and phrasing are a lot different. It was hard to communicate off the beaten path. :)
