Going to vacation in England, which area is better to stay in Kensington or Bloomsbury. I intend to see the? |
Travel Info usual tourist spots. I am 40 and travelling alone. Travel Tips If you want night life, Bloomsbury. Its closer. Its also right next to the British Museum, and nearer central London. Kensington is prettier, but further from attractions other than the Science Museum and the V&A. Others Both are good and central, but Kensington is also pretty, old buildings and the French Institute where you can see daily French movies, the Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, so it's where I personally would stay. I've seen Hugh Grant walking around there. He lives locally. Both are pretty central and convenient to the usual tourist spots, but I think Kensington is prettier. Though there are tourists everywhere in London, I always felt like Bloomsbury was over the top. And the Russell Square tube stop can be a nightmare filled with tour groups. I used to live in Bloomsbury. Kensington is your best bet. Hey there! First of all, have fun! I traveled alone many times to London before relocating there for a year! I would recommend Kensington, because there's a lot of excellent shops and restaurants on High Street Kensington, and I am a bit partial to the area. Both places would be fine, as the London Underground brilliantly connects areas throughout London quite easily. I stayed in Kensington in May and loved it! Had Kensington Gardens accross the road, Science Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Natural History Museum just around the corner. It also didn't feel too "touristy" like some other areas. |
