Palm Springs, things to do, places to see that must be done when there...? |
Travel Info Any ideas on things for a family to do that we might not see in the abundant brochures? Travel Tips go see the redlands follies. its quite a sight Others Be sure to ride the tram to the top of the mountain. I hope you like golfing, that's mostly all there is to do in that entire area! Visiting Palm Springs in the summer time? Be prepared for some serious heat, it's already over 100. Bring lots of water! Go hiking in Tahquitz Canyon. There are some cool waterfalls to see. Whenever I visit Palm Springs, I always go to the street fair! It is located on the main street (highway 111) in Palm Springs every Thursday night in the summer. There are local arts and crafts, fresh produce and other food, used books, and tons of other stuff for sale. Even if you don't buy anything, the people-watching can't be beat!!! This time of year Palm Springs is very hot. Around the area there are a few things to keep cool. A water slide park in town. There is the Ariel Tramway which takes you to the top of one of our beautiful mountain ranges. The living desert is our local zoo which isn't too hot during the early part of the day. There are also some neat hiking places to enjoy, Tahquitz Canyon and a little outside the desert Joshua Tree National Park. Oh, if you have kids check out the Childrens Museum! |
