Camping kern river/isabella? |
Travel Info i want to go camping in july or the end of this month. and ive heard from people that kern river/lake isabella is a nice place. but i like kern river more. anyone been there?experiences? i heard that hospital flat is a good campground and at an area of the kern were u can swim, bc its hot over there and we want to be in the water near our campsite.and also it is shady. but ive heard of other private campgrounds like frandy, camp james, and rivernook???? THANKS oh yah i live in orange county any other good places to camp? Travel Tips I was at the Kern for Memorial Day 5 years ago and it was very hot. Hotter at Isabella. The water was high but far too cold to swim in. Most of the campgrounds are on the river, but get very crowded on weekends and holidays, often full by 5:00 PM on Friday! Not much shade. I wouldn't go in July! Others I liked by the river better |
