Hey LA Fans what ever happen to Dr. Demento? |
Travel Info I used to listen to his radio show all the time what ever happened to Dr. Demento? Travel Tips Great minds think alike, copes. I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago. So I googled him. He's alive and well and has a website He still does his radio show, but unfortunately, it's not on any LA station nor does he stream over the web. I was surprised to learn back in the day, his show on KMET (remember them?) was the highest rated Sunday night show on radio. Perhaps we can start a petition to one of the local radio stations to put him on the air again. Others He's still around. Westwood no longer syndicates it show, but you can get streaming copies of his show on http://drdemento.com/ Unfortunately there is no way to get a list of current stations from his website. He is forbidden to release a list - something to do with his syndication contract. You are best to buy a streamed show ($2 a pop) from his site. Lastly - why haven't Sirius or XM picked up Dr. Demento? It seems like such a well known and loved character should have his own show - on their comedy network etc. He is a national treasure. Hey Cope: I don't know how to do that "linking" stuff, but if you go to the website "www.krellan.com/demento/" you will find a list of several radio stations that "stream" the Dr Demento radio program on Sunday evenings. Times vary from 6-10 pm PDS. I personally tried KBLM, Portland, Maine and it currently works. You do need Windows Media Player, but I'm sure you probably already have that. |
