Hey LA Fans what is you fav memory of filming of location? |
Travel Info Los Angeles is still the Film capital of the world. Do you have any memories of fiming on location? I remember seeing the Filming of Dallas in West Los Angeles. "Miss Ellie" was filmed walking out of the West LA court house. On time i saw Rod Stewart fiming on the beach. Travel Tips There's a scene in "Clueless" where Alicia Silverstone is dumped in the parking lot of Circus Liquor in North Hollywood that I drove past all the time. In "True Romance" there was an establishing shot of a motel in Burbank called the Safari Inn, which has a garish neon sign. Also, a episode of Tracy Ullman's show used some flower kiosk In Burbank that I drove past. An episode of "Joan of Arcadia" shot in a Hobby shop I also drive past in Burbank. A car commercial used the front of a Music Store I--you guessed it-have driven past. Oh, and I worked at a place where they filmed an epi of The Huntress. I drove there, but I stopped this time. Which reminds me, anyone know of a location company that I can register with, that doens't charge a fee up front? Others while in high school the Wonder Years was filmed there (Rosemead High), and in the show, Kevin Arnold would hang out at the Jims Burger on Valley Blvd in Rosemead. it was interesting to see how they transformed those places to the year 1970's, when the show took place..........also the 90210 home is in Altadena, CA not Beverly Hills I live in a hick town/city in upstate NY that is notorious for having a lot of unbelievably stupid people (as my brother likes to say, everybody walking around looks like they were beaten with a hammer at some point in their lives). This may be due to the fact that two huge sanatoriums loom over the city which once were filled with thousands of patients. When the institutions were closed in the 1970s all of the loonies were released into the city instead of being sent back to where they came from. You would not think a city like this would attract Hollywood types, however, it has become sort of a desirable location for low-budget film makers to shoot their movies as it is much cheaper to operate from here rather than in NYC or Southern CA. An Italian movie about the mafia called "Come Away With Me" was filmed almost entirely in my city a few years ago and I was in the train station once when a scene was being filmed of somebody getting shot. When I lived in Fair Oaks, CA an educational movie was filmed at my high school and I got to be in it as an extra. I saw some but can't remember the names of the movies...saw one fillming at night at the Hollywood and Highland Station. |
