Is California really going to have earthquakes in the summer of 2007? |
Travel Info because me and my we were going to plan a vacation in the summer of 2007 probably in July 4th because my mom gets the two weeks of in July from her job! Travel Tips There have been tremors lately so I guess we are due for a big one 8.5 on richter scale I have been told by informed sources any week now , BUT I have to add those same sources said I would win lotto soon LOL.鈾? Others Yep, we have hundreds of 'quakes a year. There are over 4000 earthquakes reported each year in the Southern California area. Most are small and detectable only to sensitive equipment. At this time earthquakes of any size cannot be predicted. But by statistics we are due for another large quake. That's part of living in Earthquake Country. Lifetime So. Ca. resident (60 yrs.) I think you are plenty safe. I wouldn"t worry to much about it. You did not say where you were going to visit but we have heard rumors for years and most of them are false. Born and raised in California We have tiny earthquakes constantly - they post them in the weekly paper since nobody notices. If you mean are we going to have a big one or... THE BIG ONE... well, nobody knows ... so we just go on with life and don't worry about it. Aw... Just come, you'll have fun..... we're having a nice warm summer so far......... Yes we will have an earthquake. However, the odds of one being big enough to be felt is slim. What's to worry about? Earthquakes are the ultimate thrill ride. |
